Esteemed participants and guests of the exhibition!

Horology in Russia has history of many centuries. Russian watchmakers often managed to amaze the world by virtuosity of their work. The exposition “Russian Watch Industry – time without borders” gives an excellent possibility to introduce tens of thousands of visitors from all continents to the historical traditions and modern tendencies of development of Russian watch-making industry. Participation in the large all-world professional forum is a serious event, which is an evidence of the aspiration of Russian producers to occupy a well-deserved place on the world’s clock market. I wish you fruitful work, establishment of new partnerships and, of course, new areas on the map where local time will be checked by Russian clocks.
E.M. Primakov,
President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.

Esteemed ladies and gentlemen,

Russian horology represents an excellent combination of grace of the Russian jeweller’s art, traditions of national craftsmen and the latest achievements of the world’s instrument-making industry. Russian instrument-making is a sort of locomotive of the machine-building industry, as well of the country’s economy as a whole. Craftsmanship of Russian watchmakers was marked, and not once, by high rewards of world and international shows. I hope that participation in the exhibition “BaselWorld-2004” will become for Russian watchmakers a new step on the way to the world-wide scientific and industrial integration. And that buyers will estimate the products presented at their true worth. I wish you effective work and new achievements.
M.L. Shakkum,
Chairman of the Committee of the State Duma on industry, construction and high-end technologies.

Esteemed participants and guests!

Again, hospitable Switzerland is receiving watchmakers from all over the world. However, this time it will also see the cream of Russian clockmaking industry, of which Moscovites constitute a large part. It is a serious and significant step on the way to integration into the world market and into the clock market in particular, for our country as a whole and for Moscow as the largest city with advanced clock-making industry. I hope that all participants of the exposition "Russian Watch Industrytime without borders"! will apply all possible efforts for making the products presented by them interesting for all visitors, both specialists and those who simply love and value clocks. I hope that our participation in the largest worldwide clock forum will be constant, and that exposition of Russia, where Moscow will occupy its well-deserved place, will become larger and increasingly interesting. I wish you success and thriving.
E. A. Panteleev,
Minister of the Government of Moscow, Head of Department of Science and Industrial Policy of the city of Moscow.

Esteemed participants and guests of the exposition "Russian Watch Industry – time without borders"!

History of Russian clock-making industry began 600 years ago, with appearance of the first tower clock. Now this world-famous chimingclock on the Spasskaya tower of the Moscow Kremlin is a symbol of our city. Russian clock-making has gone through many ups and downs during the past centuries. So much more pleasant to see that Russian clockmaking is presently not simply on the rise, it is coming out to the international level. Participation in the largest all-world forum is a serious event significative of striving of Russian producers to occupy a worthy place on the world clock market. The exposition "Russian Watch Industry – time without borders"! gives a great chance to introduce tens of thousands of visitors from all continents to historical traditions and modern trends of development of our domestic clock-making industry. I hope that Russian producers will make maximal use of this unique chance to come out t the world market.
L. V. Govorov,
President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
